On Sunday, November 24, 2024, a responsible source from the Presidential Office refuted media reports characterized as "misleading" regarding strained relations between the Presidential Leadership Council and the internationally recognized Yemeni government.

Speaking to Barran Press on the condition of anonymity, the source dismissed claims suggesting that the Leadership Council had requested financial allocations from Prime Minister Ahmed Awdh bin Mubarak for the council's members.

The source emphasized that there are “no financial allocations for the presidential institution from the state budget” and denied any requests made to the government since August of last year regarding this matter.

The source urged media outlets, given the current economic and humanitarian circumstances, to exercise caution, adhere to ethical journalism values, and prioritize the public interest. They emphasized the importance of refraining from personalizing national issues and the responsibilities of state institutions in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Earlier reports from local media had suggested a crisis between the Presidential Leadership Council and the government, citing the latter's refusal to allocate funds for the council and its failure to address the economic crisis.
