On Monday, November 25, 2024, Saudi Ambassador to Yemen, Mohammed Al-Jaber, described a "fruitful meeting" with U.S. Special Envoy Timothy Lenderking and U.S. Ambassador Stephen Fagin. In a post on X monitored by Barran Press, Al-Jaber noted that the discussions focused on the latest developments in Yemen and the Red Sea, as well as joint efforts to support the Yemeni government and its people amid ongoing economic and humanitarian challenges.

Al-Jaber also highlighted the importance of supporting the United Nations envoy's efforts to maintain a ceasefire and achieve a comprehensive political solution in Yemen.

In a separate tweet, the ambassador announced a meeting with the European Union Ambassador and the ambassadors of the Netherlands and Germany to Yemen, where they discussed the ongoing crisis in Yemen. The discussions included developments in the Red Sea and collaborative efforts to bolster support for the Yemeni government and people, as well as the UN envoy's initiatives for a political resolution.

The United Nations had previously announced on December 23, 2023, that Yemeni parties had reached agreements to adhere to measures including a nationwide ceasefire and steps to improve living conditions, preparing for a renewed inclusive political process under UN auspices. However, peace efforts have stalled due to Houthi attacks, designated as a terrorist organization, on commercial shipping vessels in the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, and Gulf of Aden since November.
