The National Coalition of Political Parties and Organizations issued a call on Friday, November 29, 2024, urging all political and social forces to stand alongside the Presidential Leadership Council and the government to “achieve economic recovery and provide services to citizens across the country.”
This appeal was made in a statement released by the National Coalition on the occasion of the 57th anniversary of Yemen’s national independence, which was reviewed by Barran Press.
In the statement, the coalition reaffirmed its commitment to the principles of the September and October revolutions, which it describes as the foundations for building a modern state. The coalition pledged to “work towards restoring the state, eliminating the coup, ending internal divisions, rejecting violence and sectarianism, and promoting a culture of tolerance and coexistence.”
The coalition called on “all political and social forces to draw inspiration from the spirit of struggle and sacrifice embodied by the Independence Day to confront current challenges and work hand in hand to restore the state, end the Houthi coup, and fulfill our people's aspirations for security, stability, progress, and prosperity.”
Yemenis will celebrate tomorrow, Saturday, November 30, the 57th anniversary of the departure of the last British soldier from southern Yemen, marking the culmination of the struggles against imamate tyranny in the north and British occupation in the south.
On November 30, 1967, the last British soldier left Aden after 129 years of colonial rule following four years of the October 14 Revolution, led by revolutionary figure Rajeh bin Ghaleb Labouza.
