Yemen's Interior Ministry Reports 47 Traffic Fatalities in November

On Sunday, December 1, 2024, Yemen's Interior Ministry, part of the internationally recognized government, reported that 47 individuals lost their lives in traffic accidents across the provinces under its control during November.

According to a traffic report published by the ministry's Security Media Center, a total of 328 people were injured in these incidents, with 165 suffering serious injuries. The financial losses resulting from the accidents amounted to approximately 73.4 million Yemeni riyals.

The report indicated that during the same period, there were 387 recorded traffic accidents in various liberated provinces and regions. The incidents included 236 vehicle collisions, 92 pedestrian hits, 41 vehicle rollovers, 11 collisions with fixed objects, 10 falls from vehicles, 3 vehicle fires, and one flood-related incident.

The report highlighted several contributing factors to these accidents, including driver distraction due to phone use, fatigue while driving, exceeding load limits, mechanical failures of vehicles, and other issues related to road conditions and safety.
