Eight Arab universities have secured prominent positions within the top 150 universities out of 1,500 globally, according to the QS World University Rankings for 2025.
According to the QS results, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Saudi Arabia ranked as the top Arab university, coming in at 101st globally. This marks a significant improvement from its previous ranking of 143rd. Following closely is Qatar University, ranked 122nd worldwide.
The list continues with King Abdulaziz University at 149th globally, Hamad Bin Khalifa University at 183rd, and King Saud University at 200th. Khalifa University and United Arab Emirates University are ranked 202nd and 261st, respectively, while Cairo University holds the eighth position among Arab universities at 350th globally.
Notably, the 2025 QS rankings do not feature any Arab universities in the top 100 worldwide. The QS World University Rankings are published annually by Quacquarelli Symonds, a British company specializing in education.
