On Friday, December 4, 2024, former Vice President Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar praised the event organized by the political office of the National Resistance in the western coast region to commemorate the death of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh.
In a post on his official X account, which was noted by Barran Press, al-Ahmar reflected on the seventh anniversary of the December 2 uprising, called by Saleh, which culminated in his death two days after it began.
Al-Ahmar stated that during the December 2 uprising, Yemenis united in their commitment to preserving the republican system and resisting Houthi control. He emphasized the need for various Yemeni factions to come together in a unified stance towards liberating the country from Iranian clerical influence.
On the same day, the city of Mocha in Taiz Governorate witnessed a celebration organized by the political office of the National Resistance, led by Presidential Council member Tarek Saleh, to honor the seventh anniversary of Ali Abdullah Saleh's death and that of Arif al-Zouka, the Secretary-General of the General People's Congress.
The event was attended by several prominent figures, including Sultan al-Barakani, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Justice Minister Badr al-Areda, and leaders from various parties aligned with the Yemeni legitimacy.
