On Thursday, December 5, 2024, Yemen's National Meteorological Center issued a warning of severe cold conditions, predicting a frost wave in five governorates over the coming hours.

In its daily bulletin, which was reviewed by "Barran Press," the center forecast clear and cold to extremely cold weather during the night and early morning in the governorates of Saada, Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar, and Al-Bayda. There is a possibility of frost formation in various areas within these regions.

The center also indicated that relatively cold weather will be experienced in the highland areas of Al-Dhale, Ibb, Taiz, Lahij, Abyan, Shabwa, Hadramout, Marib, and Al-Jawf, with conditions shifting from clear to partly cloudy during the day.

Furthermore, there is a chance of light rain-producing cumulus clouds forming over parts of the highlands in Saada, Hajjah, Al-Mahwit, and Raymah. The meteorological center also warned of the potential for mist to develop in some sloping and elevated areas during the night and early morning.

Coastal areas are expected to experience partly cloudy to clear conditions, with a likelihood of rain clouds forming over the northern Tihama plains and Socotra Archipelago. Meanwhile, the desert regions will remain clear with moderate winds that may stir dust and sand.

The National Meteorological Center urged farmers to take necessary precautions and follow agricultural guidelines to protect their crops, as well as advising livestock herders and poultry farmers to safeguard their animals from the harsh cold.

Additionally, the center warned citizens to avoid exposure to cold weather in mountainous areas, especially for children, school students, the elderly, and outdoor workers during the night and early morning hours.
