On Friday, December 5, 2024, Yemeni Foreign Minister Shaya Al-Zindani engaged in separate meetings with the UN and U.S. Special Envoys on the sidelines of the 20th Regional Security Forum in Manama, Bahrain. The discussions centered on recent developments in Yemen and ongoing Houthi violations against the Yemeni population.

According to the official Yemeni news agency Saba, Minister Al-Zindani highlighted the Yemeni government's commitment to cooperating with all regional and international efforts aimed at ending the war and achieving peace in Yemen during his meeting with Hans Grundberg, the UN Special Envoy for Yemen.

He stressed the importance of the international community applying pressure on the Houthis regarding their actions and violations, particularly their escalation in the Red Sea, which threatens maritime navigation, international trade, and regional security.

In the meeting with U.S. Special Envoy Tim Lenderking, Al-Zindani pointed out the Houthi group's failure to fulfill its commitments and its continued threats to maritime security in the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab.

Lenderking reaffirmed the United States' dedication to supporting efforts to end the conflict and bring about peace in Yemen.

Minister Al-Zindani  arrived in Bahrain on Thursday to participate in the Regional Security Forum, which commenced on Friday evening, attracting political, military, and academic leaders from over 60 countries.

The forum, organized by the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will address various political, security, and defense issues across five main sessions, focusing on regional security and the challenges faced by multipolar states.
