On December 10, 2024, a responsible source in Marib, northeastern Yemen, announced that Major General Sultan Al-Aradah, a member of the Presidential Leadership Council and governor of Marib, has directed appropriate authorities to investigate an attack on a delegation from the National Resistance Political Bureau that occurred shortly after the incident.

The local source confirmed in a statement to "Barran Press" that Al-Aradah’s directive includes tracking down the perpetrators of the assault, which targeted the delegation led by Kamel Al-Khodani.

The security forces have reportedly initiated immediate action, with ongoing investigations to follow the details and pursue suspects for arrest and prosecution.

The source emphasized that such actions do not reflect the morals and values of the province's residents, reiterating the local authority's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of citizens. The local government will not tolerate any attempts to disrupt peace in the province.

Furthermore, the source stated that upholding the rule of law and enhancing security to provide a stable environment is a strategic goal and top priority for the local authority, especially amid ongoing challenges, including persistent threats from cells linked to the Houthi militia.

The source also urged the public to cooperate with security agencies and report any suspicious activities or information that could assist in apprehending the assailants. It was emphasized that such incidents will not deter the local authority from fulfilling its national duty to promote security and protect public and private rights.
