On December 13, 2024, Yemen's internationally recognized government declared that "the hour of salvation is near," emphasizing the Yemeni people's determination to liberate their country from the grip of the Houthi militia.

In an official statement, Yemeni Information Minister Moammar Al-Eryani expressed confidence that "the future holds victory for the honorable sons of Yemen," asserting that Yemen will remain part of its Arab surroundings, resisting oppression until it regains its freedom and sovereignty.

Al-Eryani referred to a recent speech by Houthi leader Abdel-Malik Al-Houthi, which he characterized as erratic and intended to intimidate Yemenis while portraying his Iranian-backed militia as an invincible force. He stated that Al-Houthi is "living in a political coma," unaware of the seismic shifts in the region that have undermined Iran's expansionist agenda.

Instead of acknowledging his mistakes, Al-Houthi threatened the Yemeni people with bloodshed, echoing the rhetoric of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah. Al-Eryani described this "desperate" speech as reflective of the extremist and violent mindset promoted by Tehran's axis.

On the evening of December 12, Al-Houthi delivered a speech addressing the latest developments in Gaza, as well as regional and international updates, marking his first address since the recent fall of the Assad regime in Syria. During his speech, he adopted an unusually raised tone, claiming to have trained hundreds of thousands of fighters—an apparent effort to reassure Yemenis that he would not meet the same fate as Assad, amid widespread fears within Houthi circles of a similar scenario unfolding in Yemen.
