Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – On December 16, 2024, Rashad Alimi, President of the Presidential Leadership Council, met with the leadership of the coalition forces to discuss joint coordination mechanisms and bilateral cooperation programs aimed at enhancing the capabilities of the Yemeni armed forces. The discussions focused on maintaining security and stability, combating terrorism, smuggling, and organized crime.
The official Saba News Agency reported that Major General Fahd bin Hamad Al-Sulami, head of the coalition forces, attended the meeting in Riyadh.
During the meeting, Alimi praised the significant modernization and qualitative development within the coalition forces and their effective support for the Yemeni military. He also acknowledged the humanitarian and developmental assistance provided to the Yemeni people across various sectors.
Alimi expressed gratitude for the steadfast support of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and its leadership, highlighting their commitment to alleviating the suffering of the Yemeni people and fulfilling their aspirations to end the Houthi militia's insurgency, restore state institutions, and achieve security, stability, peace, and development.
Riyadh is currently experiencing extensive diplomatic and political activity, which includes separate meetings between the council's leadership and ambassadors from the United States, Britain, and France, as well as discussions with the commander of the Arab coalition supporting the internationally recognized Yemeni government.
