On December 19, 2024, Major General Sagheer Bin Azeez, the Chief of Staff of the Yemeni Army and Commander of Joint Operations, declared the military’s readiness to engage in a decisive battle aimed at liberating Yemen from the Iran-backed Houthi group, which is classified as a terrorist organization.

Speaking at a graduation ceremony for the third class of the First Reserve Brigade's special forces, Bin Azeez emphasized the urgency of the fight ahead. "We are on the brink of liberation and victory. A battle is coming that will rid our people and our country of the evil and tyranny that Iran has sown in our land," he asserted.

He further noted, "Iran's footholds in the Arab world are crumbling, and now it is your turn, brave heroes in the armed forces, to confront the malevolence that Iran has planted among us."

Bin Azeez expressed confidence in the armed forces' growing strength and resilience against the Houthi terrorist organization and its destructive agenda, which is supported by the Iranian regime.

The ceremony featured a military parade and tactical combat exercises by the newly graduated special forces, showcasing their physical fitness and combat skills honed during training, according to military media reports.
