On December 23, 2024, Dr. Ali Al-Abab, Yemen's Deputy Minister of Education, announced the allocation of land for the establishment of a school specifically for the visually impaired in Marib province, northeastern Yemen.
This announcement came during the closing ceremony of a training course for visually impaired individuals on smartphone usage, organized by the Ain Saba Foundation under the motto "Empowerment for All" at the Mashaeel Al-Noor School for the Visually Impaired in Marib city.
Al-Abab praised the efforts of the Ain Saba Foundation in integrating visually impaired individuals into society through programs that help them keep pace with modern technology. He emphasized that the Ministry of Education will do everything possible to serve this group and ensure their educational rights are upheld.
He also acknowledged the local authority’s role in Marib, particularly Governor Sultan bin Ali Al-Aradah, for his special attention to supporting the visually impaired in the province.
The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Abdul Hakim Al-Qaisi, Director of the Social Affairs and Labor Office, Khalid Al-Shajni, Assistant Director of the Executive Unit, Muhammad Al-Yousufi, Director of Ain Saba Foundation, Iman Dhalal, Director of Community Participation, and Muhammad Al-Samari, Director of Mashaeel Al-Noor School.
In addition, Abdul Hakim Al-Qaisi confirmed the office's readiness to organize training courses for families of visually impaired individuals in handicrafts and other areas to enhance their livelihoods, in coordination with relevant donor agencies.
