Yemen's Rashad Alimi Appoints Five New Judges to Supreme Court

On December 25, 2024, Rashad Alimi, the President of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council, announced a significant judicial reform by appointing five new judges to the Supreme Court.

The decision, outlined in Republican Decree No. 327 of 2024, was made public by the Yemeni news agency Saba. The newly appointed judges include Mohammed Faraj Salem Sabti, Ahmed Said Khamis Bin Orawa, Fadl Abdullah Ali Muqbil, Jalal Obaid Mohammed Al-Marfadi, and Mohammed Qaed Salem Mohammed Hamidan.

According to the decree, the appointments take effect immediately from the date of issuance and are to be published in the official gazette, marking a notable step in strengthening Yemen's judicial system.
