Local sources reported that powerful explosions were heard in Sana'a on the evening of December 27, 2024, as U.S. airstrikes targeted military sites controlled by the Houthi movement, which is internationally designated as a terrorist organization.

According to residents speaking to Barran Press, the airstrikes focused on several key locations in northern Sana'a, including the maintenance camp in the Al-Nahda neighborhood, the former headquarters of the First Armored Division, and the international airport. Houthi media claimed that the attacks also targeted the September 21 Park, referring to the former division's headquarters.

Israeli media outlets have suggested that the recent strikes on Sana'a were likely conducted by the U.S.-led international coalition. This follows a series of Israeli airstrikes on December 26, which heavily targeted the same areas, including the international airport, the Al-Dailami Air Base, and the Huzez power station.
