On December 30, 2024, Major General Khaled Fadel, commander of the Taiz military axis, asserted that his forces have demonstrated unwavering resilience on multiple fronts, successfully thwarting all attempts to destabilize the province. His remarks came during the annual conference of the Taiz military axis for the 2024 training and operational year, held under the auspices of the Presidential Leadership Council and the Ministry of Defense.
General Fadel emphasized that 2024 has been an exceptional year for the military units, filled with significant challenges and transformations that tested their capabilities. He noted key events such as the opening of a strategic route in Taiz and the visit of the Presidential Council, describing these as critical moments amidst an increase in hostile actions from Houthi forces.
He condemned the hatred" directed at Taiz, highlighting the Houthi group’s persistent yet futile attempts to breach the province's defenses through various attacks, espionage networks, and covert operations.
Fadel stressed that the efforts of the Taiz axis extend beyond combat, underscoring a dynamic strategy focused on enhancing operational readiness and military expertise. He reiterated their commitment to restoring the Yemeni state from the Houthi militia, which he accused of undermining national sovereignty and dignity.
The conference also featured remarks from Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan, who praised the military axis's training achievements in 2024 and emphasized the importance of preparation and training in achieving victory. He affirmed the local authority's commitment to support the national army in its liberation efforts against the Houthi militia.
