Soldier from 'National Shield' Forces Killed in Hadramout

HADRAMOUT, Yemen — On January 5, 2025, a soldier from the "National Shield" forces was reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen.

Local sources informed "Barran Press" that armed individuals opened fire on soldier Hussein Alawi Al-Saadi in the Qatan district of western Wadi Hadramout, resulting in his death. The attackers fled the scene in an unknown direction following the incident.

Hussein Al-Saadi was a resident of Hadramout, and his killing highlights the ongoing security challenges in the region. The "National Shield" forces were established in January 2023 by a decision from the Presidential Leadership Council, with military and logistical support from Saudi Arabia.
