The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning announced on January 6, 2025, that a slight improvement in temperatures is expected across various Yemeni provinces in the coming hours as the effects of the cold air mass begin to diminish.

According to the center's daily bulletin, seen by Barran Press, very cold conditions are anticipated in the mountainous regions, particularly in the provinces of Al-Bayda, Dhamar, Sana'a, Amran, and Saada, with the possibility of frost forming in parts of these areas.

The center forecasts that temperatures will drop to zero degrees Celsius in Al-Bayda, one degree in Dhamar and Amran, two degrees in Sana'a, and three degrees in Saada by dawn tomorrow, Tuesday.

Cold weather is also expected in the highlands of Ibb, Al-Dhale, Abyan, Hadramout, and Al-Mahra during the night and early morning hours, with scattered cumulonimbus clouds forming over parts of the western mountainous areas adjacent to the Tihama plain.

Coastal areas will experience partly cloudy skies with light rain possible over the Socotra Archipelago, while the western, southern, and eastern coasts will be mostly clear to partly cloudy. Active winds are anticipated at the entrance to Bab al-Mandab and in the Gulf of Aden.

The meteorological center indicated that desert regions will see clear and cold conditions during the night and early morning, with moderate winds stirring dust and sand.

The center has warned residents in mountainous and inland plateau areas, as well as deserts, about the cold and severe cold conditions expected during nighttime and early morning hours. It also cautioned farmers about the potential impacts of extreme cold on crops, urging them to take necessary protective measures, and advised livestock herders and poultry farmers to safeguard their animals.
