During a meeting with the community committee from the Sharab Youth Forum to discuss the Al-Sharabi case, Governor Shamsan stated, "The security forces are on high alert, and operations will continue until all individuals wanted for murder are captured, regardless of their locations." He assured that he is closely monitoring the actions of security agencies to ensure thorough investigations.
The governor highlighted that the crime has deeply affected the community, prompting the need for new decisions and plans to reinforce security and stability while addressing violations.
In the meeting, the victim's daughter, journalist Ghadeer Al-Sharabi, recounted the details of the incident, while attendees called for the arrest of all individuals involved in shielding the perpetrator or providing them with protection from justice.
On the night of December 31, 2024, Saif Al-Sharabi was killed after confronting the suspect and his associates, who had turned the entrance to his home into a gathering place for chewing khat.
Following the public outcry surrounding the case, the Taiz police announced the arrest of a second suspect and eight individuals implicated in concealing the main perpetrator. These individuals have been placed in custody for ongoing investigations and legal action.
In a press statement received by "Barran Press," Taiz police affirmed their commitment to relentlessly pursue the main suspect and to implement strict measures against anyone found complicit in concealing or attempting to hide the perpetrator. They urged citizens to fully cooperate with security forces and to report any information that could aid in resolving the case, appreciating the community's and media's engagement in ensuring public safety.
