AL-BAYDA, Yemen — Following three consecutive days of intense drone and artillery strikes by the Houthi group, classified as a terrorist organization, dozens of families in the village of Al-Hanakah Al-Masoud in Qifa Rad’a have been compelled to evacuate.

Tribal sources reported to Barran Press that the relentless bombardment, aimed at civilian homes, has led to significant destruction, including damage to religious sites and the displacement of numerous families. The Houthi attacks have shown no regard for women and children, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis in the region.

The escalation of violence comes after the Houthis imposed a "brutal siege" on the village, during which they deployed heavy military reinforcements and detained several locals on what sources described as "fabricated charges." Reports indicate that the group has also cut off essential supplies, including water, food, and medicine.

As the bombardment continues, sources warn of a "catastrophic" humanitarian situation, particularly affecting vulnerable groups such as children, women, and the elderly. Many families have fled to Wadi Thah in search of safety.

The Houthis have reportedly issued an ultimatum to the remaining residents, demanding their departure as part of a plan to complete the village's destruction. This tactic has drawn parallels with Israeli military strategies in Gaza, where intensified bombings are used to force civilian evacuations before further military operations.

In an attempt to justify their actions, the Houthis have accused local tribes of harboring "takfiri elements," vowing to continue their "brutal campaign" against anyone threatening security.

Activists from Qifa assert that the Houthis are targeting youth from the Al-Masoud tribe involved in Quranic education, aiming to suppress such activities through intimidation and military force.

Earlier this week, the Houthis launched a large-scale military operation against the Al-Masoud tribe following an incident where one of their vehicles was fired upon by frustrated locals reacting to the group's oppressive practices.

Tribal sources confirmed that the situation escalated after the Houthis enforced a tight blockade on the village, located approximately six kilometers from Rad’a city and only two kilometers from the Al-Qusair military camp.

Despite facing heavy artillery, local tribesmen attempted to defend themselves with personal weapons, yet the Houthis intensified their bombardment, causing destruction across neighboring villages and resulting in civilian casualties.

As the attacks persist, graphic videos have emerged depicting the devastation in Al-Hanakah, showing damaged homes and mosques. Initial reports from human rights sources indicate that the ongoing siege and indiscriminate shelling have resulted in one death and twelve injuries, including three women. Over thirty homes have been partially damaged, with eight completely destroyed, alongside the bombing of two mosques.

Tribal sources spoke to Barran Press revealed that the Houthis have thwarted mediation efforts led by local elders seeking a resolution, undermining attempts to negotiate peace between the Al-Masoud tribe and the group.
