MARIB, Yemen — On January 12, 2025, Abdu Rabbu Miftah, the Deputy Governor of Marib, called on international and humanitarian organizations to fulfill their roles in providing aid to internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the region. He emphasized the importance of focusing on infrastructure projects and sustainable development alongside immediate relief efforts.

During a meeting with Khadr Ajaj, the Water and Sanitation Coordinator for the International Takafol Organization, Muftah discussed potential areas for collaboration and the organization's action plan for the year. He highlighted the deteriorating living conditions for IDPs and host communities, which have led to increased health issues, malnutrition among children, and heightened demand for food, water, shelter, and healthcare.

Miftah praised the work of the International Takafol Organization over the past two years and expressed hope for expanded interventions to alleviate the burden on local authorities. Ajaj outlined the organization's plans for emergency response projects, including initiatives that provide job opportunities for displaced individuals through agricultural and sustainable development projects.
