The US condemned the Iran-backed Houthi group for abducting additional UN staff amidst ongoing attacks in the region, revealing their bad faith in claims of de-escalation. The a statement from US State Department called for the release of all detainees, including seven UN staff members, denouncing the "campaign of intimidation" by the Houthis.
