Sultan Al-Aradah, Governor of Marib and vice president of the Presidential Leadership Council, directed on Thursday Safer Refinery in Marib to increase the daily crude oil supply to the President Power Station in Aden, Yemen’s temporary capital.

Ali Al-Ghulaisi, Al-Aradah’s press secretary, confirmed the decision, stating that the increased fuel supply aims to address the energy deficit. The additional shipments should enable the power station to resume operations by Friday morning, easing the ongoing outages.

A senior official at Safer stated that, per Al-Aradah’s directive, the daily crude supply to Aden’s President Power Station has been raised to 2,200 barrels to help stabilize the city's power and mitigate fuel shortages.

Earlier, Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak announced the resumption of crude oil pumping from Safer fields to supply Aden’s power stations. The city has been in total darkness since Tuesday evening due to fuel shortages, sparking protests and riots on Wednesday night.
