Yemen's National Coalition of Political Parties strongly condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's recent comments regarding the establishment of a Palestinian state on Saudi Arabian territory. The coalition described the remarks as an assault on both Palestinian rights and Saudi sovereignty.
In a statement, the coalition rejected proposals by U.S. and Israeli leaders advocating for the displacement of Palestinians. They emphasized that such imposed solutions violate national sovereignty and establish a dangerous precedent in international affairs.
The coalition also criticized the Houthi rebels for exploiting these situations to advance their own agenda, further destabilizing the region. They affirmed the solidarity of the Yemeni people, who have experienced forced displacement themselves, with the Palestinian people against such plans.
The coalition underscored the historical and legitimate right of Palestinians to their homeland, rejecting any suggestion of relocation. They commended the firm stance taken by Arab nations, particularly Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Jordan, against displacement, and reaffirmed their support for an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
The coalition called on the international community to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and to condemn these remarks, which they view as a threat to peace and security.
Netanyahu's comments followed discussions with the U.S. President about potential plans to seize Gaza and relocate Palestinians. These discussions, along with the claim that Saudi Arabia no longer conditions normalization with Israel on the creation of a Palestinian state, have been met with widespread condemnation.
