A funeral was held Wednesday, February 12, 2025, in Marib for Colonel Mohammed Ali Al-Nasim, who died shortly after his release from five years of captivity in Houthi prisons. Al-Nasim succumbed to injuries sustained from severe physical and psychological torture inflicted by the Iran-backed Houthi group.
Military leaders, relatives, and friends attended the official and popular funeral, according to the Armed Forces Media Center. Mourners vowed that the Houthis' "crime against Colonel Al-Nasim will not go unpunished," emphasizing the need for justice for all detainees and reaffirming their commitment to continue fighting until victory.
Sources reported on February 1, 2025, that Al-Nasim died shortly after his release. Close sources told Barran Press that the officer, who served in the 29th Mechanized Brigade of the 7th Military Region, suffered a dramatic decline in health due to the brutal torture he endured during his five-year imprisonment by the Houthis.
