Hossam Bakri, a journalist, was detained by the Seventh Brigade Giants Forces in Mocha, located in Yemen’s Taiz Governorate, over a critical Facebook post. According to a statement seen by "Barran Press," the Yemeni Journalists Syndicate learned of Bakri’s arrest, which was ordered by the brigade’s commander.

The Syndicate denounced the detention as an “assault on freedom of opinion and expression,” urging authorities to release Bakri immediately. They also called for a thorough investigation into the incident and accountability for those involved.

In his Facebook post, Bakri had written, “The war has created bloodthirsty individuals who use weapons instead of kind words.” He accused the Seventh Brigade of meddling in civilian matters and issuing oppressive directives, sparking the controversy that led to his arrest.
