Marib authorities commemorated on Thursday the graduation of the 12th batch of 'Abdulghani Shalan' from the Protection of Facilities and Personalities Police. The ceremony coincided with the fourth anniversary of the death of brigadier Abdulghani Shalan, former commander of the Special Security Forces in Marib, who was killed defending Marib from the Iran-backed Houthus four years ago.
During the event, graduates were awarded certificates, highlighting their proficiency in various security and operational skills. Deputy Director Mohammed Al-Qarah, who attended the ceremony, underscored the significance of such training programs in bolstering the capabilities of security personnel and ensuring the effective protection of critical facilities and personalities.
This graduation was part of the 2025 security plan, which encompasses a range of legal and security training programs. The course not only equiped participants with essential skills but also honors the legacy of Abdulghani Shalan and his comrades, who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty.
In his address, Al-Qarah urged the graduates to apply their newly acquired knowledge in the field and to embody the discipline, dedication, and leadership spirit exemplified by Shalan.
