Human rights sources reported that Abdul Qader, an elderly Ethiopian citizen with health issues, was brutally beaten by Houthi members in Dhamar, central Yemen, on Sunday. The assault, condemned as a "racist crime" by activist Riyadh Al-Dubai, occurred because Abdul Qader lacked identification papers while leaving work, despite his legal residency.

Former diplomat Mustafa Naji highlighted a pattern of Houthi violence against Africans,including the burning of detention centers in Sanaa, and attributed the attack to a "sick mentality"and a breakdown of security.
