Yemeni Central Bank Announces Eight Banks to Relocate from Houthi-Controlled Sana'a to Aden

The Central Bank of Yemen announced on Sunday that eight banks have informed them of their decision to relocate their headquarters from Houthi-controlled  Sana'a to the interim capital, Aden, in southern Yemen.
In a statement published on its official website, the Central Bank in Aden said it received written notifications from eight banks regarding their decision to move their headquarters and operations from Sana'a to Aden, in order to avoid potential severe sanctions imposed by the United States.
According to the statement, the banks that have decided to relocate to Aden are: Tadhamon Bank, Al-Kuraimi Islamic Microfinance Bank, Shamil Bank of Yemen and Bahrain, Yemeni Islamic Bank, Saba Islamic Bank, Yemen Gulf Bank, Yemeni Commercial Bank, and Al-Amal Microfinance Bank.

The Central Bank welcomed this move, affirming its readiness to provide all possible forms of support and protection to all banks, financial, and economic institutions to ensure their continued service to Yemeni citizens across all governorates.
