UN Special Envoy to Yemen Hans Grundberg met with senior Houthi leaders in Muscat, Oman, on Thursday, emphasizing the need to stabilize Yemen and address the "legitimate concerns" of all parties involved.

A statement from Grundberg's office indicated that Omani officials and senior diplomats also participated in the discussions. Grundberg stressed that lasting peace is crucial for the dignity and prosperity of all Yemenis.

The talks focused on regional stability and the international interest in resolving the conflict, with Grundberg reaffirming his commitment to pursuing a sustainable peace.

Grundberg also reiterated the UN's demand for the immediate release of all detained UN staff, NGO workers, civil society members, and diplomats held by the Iran-backed Houthis, warning that their continued detention undermines international support for Yemen and the peace process.
