Political factions in Taiz Governorate, southwestern Yemen, issued a strong appeal, urging the internationally recognized Yemeni government to escalate its readiness and preparedness for the decisive battle to liberate the country and restore the state.
In a statement released following their regular assembly, the diverse political parties underscored that the Yemeni populace anticipates a unified decision and stance from the legitimate leadership to achieve national liberation. They explicitly warned against supporting any initiatives or actions that could potentially fragment the forces aligned with the legitimate government or undermine their ongoing struggle.
The parties emphasized the critical need to consolidate all military formations under a unified command structure, operating through a single operations room, to effectively pursue the shared objective of state restoration. They further implored the Arab Coalition nations to bolster their support for the impending liberation campaign and to actively work towards the harmonization of all military endeavors.
Furthermore, the political blocs collectively called upon the regional and international communities to amplify their support for the Yemeni people by steadfastly adhering to pertinent international resolutions, most notably UN Security Council Resolution 2216. They also stressed the importance of grounding any just and comprehensive political resolution on the three internationally agreed-upon terms of reference.
Simultaneously, the Taiz political parties implored the legitimate government to heed the grievances and suffering of ordinary citizens concerning the dire daily living conditions. These hardships have reached critical levels, characterized by severe drinking water shortages, widespread disease outbreaks, and rampant inflation that has rendered even basic necessities like bread increasingly unaffordable and inaccessible.
They passionately urged the legitimate leadership to remain acutely aware of these daily tragedies endured by the populace and to dedicate all possible efforts to alleviate their suffering. A primary focus, they asserted, should be addressing the alarming depreciating of the national currency against foreign currencies, which is severely impacting all facets of life.
On the regional stage, the Taiz parties vehemently condemned the ongoing acts of "genocide" perpetrated by the "Zionist entity" against the inhabitants of the Gaza Strip, decrying the global silence in the face of what they described as the most abhorrent crime inflicted upon a people in history.
They urgently called upon both regional and international actors to immediately halt the continuous "extermination" and the deliberate starvation of over two million individuals in Gaza, a situation they characterized as a profound stain on humanity and an indictment of the world's conscience.
The political parties expressed their appreciation for the regional and international initiatives that underscore the imperative of delivering aid to Gaza without any conditions or restrictions and actively working towards an end to the conflict.
They concluded by emphasizing the rapidly dwindling time and asserted that swift action is the sole means of saving the remaining innocent lives in Gaza who are perishing from both starvation and relentless bombardment with the most lethal weapons and rockets.
