Unidentified armed men assassinated a Salafi Sheikh and his companion on Sunday in the Al-Abr region, west of Hadramout Governorate in eastern Yemen, according to local sources. The incident reportedly took place as the Sheikh was traveling towards Marib Governorate in the northeast.

Sources speaking to "Bran Press" identified the slain Sheikh as Abu Abdullah Ahmed Shathan. They stated that he was targeted in a deadly armed attack by unknown assailants while traveling in his vehicle within the Al-Abr area. His companion, Mohammed Rashad al-Yafei, also perished in the assault.

Further details from sources indicate that Sheikh Ahmed Abdullah Shathan al-Amlasi was a notable military figure within government forces and originated from Saada Governorate. His companion, al-Yafei, was from Yafa'a.

In the aftermath of the killings, sources revealed that Sheikh al-Amlasi's tribe, Al Amlasi, is currently mobilizing towards Hadramout. Their intention is to establish protest sites to press demands for the swift capture and prosecution of those responsible for the assassinations.
