European Union ambassadors to Yemen concluded a visit to the interim capital, Aden, on Thursday, where they met with Yemeni government, economic, and civil society leaders.
The delegation, which included the EU, Dutch, French, and German ambassadors, emphasized the critical importance of Yemeni unity and ongoing reforms. They reaffirmed the EU's commitment to supporting the Presidential Leadership Council and the government's political and economic reform agenda, while calling for intensified efforts to improve citizens' living standards.
Discussions highlighted challenges facing Aden, with envoys encouraging improved basic service delivery and a supportive environment for humanitarian and development operations. They also underscored the need to protect civil society space.
The visit featured tours of EU-supported projects in Aden and Lahj, including innovation centers and fish markets. Meetings with women's and civil society organizations reinforced the EU's commitment to women's empowerment, human rights, and fostering a vibrant civil society in Yemen.
