The Security Committee in Marib governorate announced Wednesday that "outlaw elements" led by a Houthi operative have undertaken acts of sabotage, including severing a critical main road. The committee vowed a "firm and decisive" response to those involved.

In a statement to local media, the Security Committee identified the alleged Houthi-assigned leader as Abdullah bin Saeed bin Jalal, accused of orchestrating disruptive activities in Al-Wadi district. This group is reported to have cut the vital Marib-Hadramout international road in the eastern part of the governorate.

The statement further detailed that these elements launched attacks on security and military checkpoints guarding the road and public infrastructure, employing medium and heavy weaponry. They also attempted to establish positions on the highway, aiming to commit acts of violence, disrupt stability, and threaten national interests. Exchanges of gunfire with security forces during counter-operations resulted in injuries to several soldiers.

Marib's security apparatus affirmed it would relentlessly pursue all criminal elements, pledging "no tolerance" for attempts to compromise security or public tranquility. Authorities stated they would act with force and resolve against anyone involved in or aiding these subversive actions, which they attribute to the Houthi group.

The committee also lauded the support from Marib's tribal communities, who have sided with local authorities against sabotage and "suspicious agendas" designed to undermine national achievements. Citizens were urged to cooperate with security forces, with a stern warning against sheltering or collaborating with any saboteurs linked to terrorist groups, including the Houthis, to protect public safety and national security.
