Residents of Ma'rib city and its surrounding areas experienced a complete blackout over the past two days, as vital power transmission lines from the Marib Gas Station suffered severe damage amidst clashes in Marib Al-Wadi district. The General Electricity Corporation in Marib province, however, announced Saturday, June 7, 2025, that it has successfully completed extensive repairs and fully restored electricity to the region.

Engineer Abd al-Hadi al-Shabwani, Director General of the General Electricity Corporation in Marib, confirmed that engineering and technical teams worked relentlessly for 40 consecutive hours to fix the damaged infrastructure. "The damage to the network caused both the first and second circuits of the transmission lines to go out of service, leading to the complete power outage," Al-Shabwani explained in a video statement.
He lauded the "significant efforts" of the field teams, who he said "endured difficult working conditions day and night" to ensure the swift resumption of power. The technical crews managed to repair the faults in the first circuit, bringing the vital service back online.

Al-Shabwani emphasized the corporation's commitment to bolstering the stability of the electrical system and preventing future disruptions. He affirmed the corporation's dedication to serving citizens and mitigating their hardships, urging public cooperation with maintenance teams by promptly reporting any technical issues.

The power disruption stemmed from intense clashes in Al-Wadi, where security and army forces confronted "saboteurs led by a Houthi element" who reportedly attempted to block the international road, leading to the critical damage of the electricity lines.
