Houthi forces have arrested Sheikh Ibrahim al-Hababi, a prominent religious and social figure in Yemen's central Al-Baydha province. The Ein Human Rights Organization reported the detention on Monday, condemning it as an arbitrary act and a blatant violation of human rights.
Sheikh al-Hababi was reportedly taken into custody by Abu Talib al-Hamzi, a Houthi-affiliated "guidance supervisor." Ein Human Rights described al-Hababi as a widely respected community leader known for his moderate views and reform efforts.

Rights Group Calls for Immediate Release
The rights group forcefully denounced the arrest, labeling it an "arbitrary act that contravenes the most basic standards of justice" and warned it threatens civil peace. They emphasized that the detention is a "flagrant violation" of fundamental rights and freedoms, including freedom of thought, belief, and human dignity, as guaranteed by the Yemeni constitution and international law.

Ein Human Rights urgently called for Sheikh Ibrahim al-Hababi's immediate and unconditional release, demanding he be granted all his legal and human rights. They also urged an end to all forms of harassment against religious figures in Al-Baydha. The organization appealed to local and international human rights groups to show solidarity and pressure for an end to such arbitrary practices and accountability for those responsible.
