Yemeni Ambassador Yasin Naaman has shed light on the significant "agreements" reached by Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak during his successful visit to London. On May 17, 2024, Ambassador Naaman highlighted the fruitful discussions between the internationally recognized Yemeni leader and British officials, which focused on strengthening bilateral relations and advancing peace efforts.

In a Facebook post, as reported by "Barran Press," Ambassador Naaman expressed the positive outcomes of Ben Mubarak's visit to Britain. He underscored the importance of the meetings with the Foreign Secretary, Defense Secretary, and the Foreign Secretary of the Labour Shadow Government, emphasizing the clarity and understanding that characterized the discussions. These exchanges aimed to enhance bilateral relations, persist in peace-building endeavors, acknowledge Saudi Arabia's role, and address the economic and security challenges stemming from the Houthi rebels' unwavering commitment to the war. The ambassador also highlighted the growing threat to regional and international security posed by obstructing international navigation.

The discussions centered on the urgent need to end the war, establish peace and stability in Yemen, facilitate development projects, and overcome the difficulties arising from Iran's involvement in regional conflicts. Ambassador Naaman further revealed that the joint statement issued after the visit confirmed increased British economic support to Yemen for 2024, amounting to £170 million. Notably, this aid will be allocated to humanitarian relief areas, reflecting the political and diplomatic efforts aligned with the restoration of Yemen's position in countering the colossal challenges arising from the coup and the ongoing war, which can only be effectively confronted through the principles and values of the state.

Prime Minister Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak arrived in London, the British capital, on May 14, 2024, in response to an official invitation from the United Kingdom government. During the initial days of his visit, he engaged in crucial meetings with the British Foreign and Defense Secretaries, focusing on areas of support in the humanitarian, development, and defense sectors between the two countries.

Subsequently, on May 15, the British government announced a substantial increase in its food aid to Yemen, raising it from £83 million to £139 million. The British Foreign and Development Ministry, as revealed in a statement obtained by "Barran Press," outlined that the allocated funds would be channeled through partners such as the World Food Program, UNICEF, and other organizations. The statement emphasized the United Kingdom's commitment to providing cash transfers to assist approximately 864,000 individuals with food provisions, as well as supporting 500 healthcare centers by supplying essential medicines, vaccines, and nutritional supplements required to treat 700,000 malnourished children.
