French poet Cécile Balucinski is showcasing the beauty of Yemen's Socotra Island in a photo exhibition in Paris. The exhibition, which opened earlier this month and runs until June 14th, features a collection of images captured during Balucinski's multiple visits to the island.

The exhibition, titled "Socotra, Dragon Blood Tree and People," is a collaborative effort between Balucinski and her photographer brother, Benoît Balucinski. It is being held at the Hotel Louiziane in the French capital.

The exhibition highlights the island's unique natural landscapes, including the iconic Dragon Blood Tree, as well as the lives of its people. It follows the recent release of Balucinski and her brother's photographic book, "Socotra, Dragons, and Men," which features a foreword by Yemen's Ambassador to UNESCO, Dr. Mohammed Jumaih.

Dr. Jumaih, who attended the exhibition's opening, described it as a "chance to highlight the beauty of nature and the people of the island, which is classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Socotra is often described as a paradise on earth, home to rare species of plants and trees."

The exhibition offers a glimpse into the captivating world of Socotra, a place of extraordinary natural beauty and cultural significance. It serves as a reminder of the island's importance as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and its need for continued protection.
