Houthi Attack in Marib Leaves Two Yemeni Army Soldiers Dead

A Houthi attack on the southern front of Marib Governorate on Saturday, June 8th, 2024, resulted in the deaths of a Yemeni army officer and a soldier, local sources reported.

The sources told "Barran Press" that Houthi militants, designated as a terrorist group by several countries, launched an assault on Yemeni army positions in the southern part of Marib.

According to the sources, the Houthi militants launched a heavy attack on Yemeni army positions, but the army forces bravely repelled the assault, inflicting casualties on the attackers and forcing the remainder to flee.

The clashes resulted in the death of Captain Salim al-Shar'abi, the commander of the Yemeni army's support and artillery battalion, and soldier Abdullah Abbas al-Shar'abi.

The sources noted that the Houthi group has escalated its rocket and artillery attacks targeting Yemeni army positions in the south.

This incident follows a day of Houthi attacks on army positions, resulting in the death and injury of 14 Yemeni army personnel.
