Brigadier General Abdulraqeeb Dbouan, Chief of Staff of the Third Military Region, inspected the removal of earth barriers, sand dunes, and war debris from the paved road connecting Marib and Bayda governorates on Saturday.
Accompanied by Brigadier General Fahd Al-Araida, Assistant Commander of the Third Military Region for Combat Sectors, Dbouan observed the progress of the clearance operation, which stretches from Al-Fulaj to the Al-A'iref area. He assured that the road would be open to travelers within the next 24 hours.
The operation is being conducted under the directives of the Presidential Leadership Council member and Marib Governor, Major General Sultan Al-Araida. Dbouan emphasized the continued monitoring and supervision of the work until its completion.
"Despite the road being a former battleground, the political and military leadership has instructed its opening to alleviate the suffering of citizens who have been forced to use alternative routes," Dbouan stated.
He added, "Our fight and defense are solely for the people and their rights. The instructions of the political and military leadership are a testament to this."
The delay in the removal process was attributed to the targeting of workers by the Houthi militia on Wednesday, resulting in a severe injury to a bulldozer driver.
