The Southern Giants Brigades have imposed a nighttime curfew in the city of Harib, Marib governorate (northeastern Yemen), effective from Monday, July 8th, 2024.

A statement issued by the command of the 33rd Giants Brigade, obtained by "Barran Press," warned residents and soldiers against moving around the city after midnight.

The statement also cautioned against "firing weapons at weddings and celebrations," threatening financial penalties of up to 300,000 Yemeni riyals for violators.

The Giants Brigades' measures in Harib come after clashes with the Houthi group in the "Jifrah" area, located between the districts of Harib and al-Abdiyah in southern Marib, last week.

These clashes coincided with a ban on carrying weapons within Harib city, a security measure implemented by the Giants Brigades during active confrontations with the Houthi group on the district's borders.

The Southern Giants Brigades have controlled the Harib district since January 2022, following a joint military operation against the Houthi group, designated as a terrorist organization by several countries, with support from coalition forces.
