Heavy rainfall, potentially leading to floods, is expected to hit seven Yemeni governorates in early August, according to weather forecasts and numerical weather model data. The anticipated rainfall coincides with the arrival of "Suhail," a star known for its association with abundant rainfall.

Experts at "Barran Press" have analyzed weather maps and data, indicating a high likelihood of heavy to very heavy thundery showers, potentially causing flash floods, starting on Friday, August 2nd. The affected governorates include Hodaidah, Mahwit, Hajjah, Reimah, Ibb, Dhamar, and Sana'a.

The American model for cumulative rainfall, forecasting for the period between July 28th and August 11th, predicts heavy to very heavy rainfall, reaching up to 290 millimeters in some areas. This high precipitation level, if accurate, could significantly increase the risk of flooding.

The forecast predicts continued thundery showers on Sunday, July 28th, during the afternoon and evening hours, affecting Sana'a, Amran, Ibb, Dhamar, Hajjah, Mahwit, Sa'dah, Reimah, Taiz, Hodeida, Dhale, western and southern Baydah, northern Abyan, southern and eastern Shabwah, southern Hadhramaut, and northern Lahj.

On Monday, July 29th, heavy to very heavy thundery showers are expected in all areas of Hajjah governorate in the northwest, with heavy to moderate rainfall during the afternoon and evening in Sana'a, Mahwit, Reimah, Amran, Dhamar, Ibb, Sa'dah, Hodaidah, Dhale, northern Taiz, northern Lahj, northern Abyan, southern Baydah, and western Jawf. Scattered showers are also anticipated in southern Hadhramaut.

Tuesday, July 30th, will see an expansion of thundery showers in southern Hadhramaut and eastern and southern Shabwah during the afternoon and evening. These showers will also extend to Sana'a, Amran, Dhamar, Hajjah, Sa'dah, Reimah, Mahwit, Dhale, Ibb, Taiz, Hodaidah, northern Taiz, northern Dhale, northern Abyan, southern and western Baydah, and central Mahrah.

On Wednesday, July 31st, the rainfall is expected to spread south, encompassing Lahj, Taiz, and scattered areas in Abyan, Shabwah, and Hadhramaut. Scattered thundery showers are predicted during the afternoon and evening in Sana'a, Dhamar, Amran, Ibb, Hajjah, Mahwit, Reimah, Hodaidah, Sa'dah, and western Jawf.

Thursday, August 1st, will see thundery showers during the afternoon and evening in Dhamar, Ibb, Sana'a, Reimah, Mahwit, Hajjah, Dhale, Hodaidah, Taiz, Abyan, Baydah, Shabwah, southern Hadhramaut, northern Lahj, northern Sa'dah, and western Amran.

Saturday, August 2nd, is expected to witness thundery showers during the afternoon and evening in Reimah, Mahwit, Dhamar, Sana'a, Ibb, Taiz, Hajjah, Hodaidah, Sa'dah, Amran, Dhale, Abyan, Lahj, eastern Shabwah, and southern Hadhramaut.

Sunday, August 3rd, is predicted to see heavy to very heavy rainfall concentrated in Sa'dah, Hajjah, and Mahwit during the afternoon and evening. Heavy to moderate rainfall is expected in Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar, Ibb, Taiz, Reimah, and Baydah, with scattered showers in Shabwah, Hadhramaut, Abyan, Lahj, and Mahrah.

Monday, August 5th, will see thundery showers during the afternoon and evening in Baydah, Ibb, Dhale, Sana'a, Dhamar, Reimah, Mahwit, Hajjah, Amran, Sa'dah, northern Lahj, northern Abyan, southern Shabwah, and western Jawf.

Authorities in the affected governorates are urged to prepare for potential flooding and take necessary precautions to minimize any potential damage and ensure the safety of residents.
