A Houthi drone attack on a fuel station in Yemen's southwestern Taiz province has resulted in one fatality and 23 injuries, while also causing significant damage to nearby homes and vehicles. Taiz Governorate Police confirmed the extensive destruction in a statement released Friday, July 4.

The early Thursday morning strike targeted the Al-Qudsi fuel station in Taiz city's Sala District. Police reports indicate that 12 homes and 8 vehicles were damaged in the blast, in addition to considerable destruction at the fuel station itself and several adjacent businesses.

Upon receiving reports of the explosions, police, under direct orders from the Director-General, immediately deployed civil defense teams with fire engines to combat the blaze. Investigation teams, forensic experts, and security patrols were also dispatched to the scene. Authorities coordinated with relevant agencies to provide ambulances and transport the wounded.

Taiz police stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the precise circumstances of the incident, document the full extent of the damage, and implement necessary security measures.
Health officials in Taiz revealed on Thursday that the drone attack had claimed one life and left 23 injured. Dr. Ilan Abdulhaq, Undersecretary of Taiz Governorate for Health Affairs, told "Bran Press" that Al-Thawra General Hospital's emergency department admitted 23 injured individuals overnight. She noted that one patient remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit, suffering from fractures and a brain hemorrhage. Dr. Abdulhaq assured that this patient would receive free medical services from the hospital's specialists and commended the hospital staff for their swift response. Most of the injured have since been discharged after their conditions stabilized.

Local sources in Taiz reported that three separate explosions echoed across various neighborhoods—including Al-Shaab, Hawd Al-Ashraf, and Al-Thawra (Sabiha)—concurrent with the Houthi strike on the Al-Qudsi fuel station. A military source attributed the station's explosion directly to a Houthi drone.
