The Houthi militia has reportedly launched a sweeping campaign of abductions in Yemen's central Ibb governorate. Dozens of civilians, including doctors, academics, and human rights defenders, have been targeted and are currently undergoing intense interrogations at the Political Security building, according to the Rased Organization for Rights and Freedoms.
 
 
In a statement obtained by "Bran Press" on Thursday, July 3, 2025, Rased confirmed it has been monitoring the Houthi campaign in Ibb for the past month. The abductions have so far ensnared 33 individuals, among them doctors, university professors, lawyers, and teachers. Rased also reported that the Houthi group is threatening victims' families to prevent them from publicizing any information regarding the abductions.

Rased vehemently condemned these actions, stressing that abduction, enforced disappearance, and torture constitute war crimes that carry no statute of limitations, ensuring perpetrators will face justice. The organization holds the Houthi militia solely responsible for the safety and well-being of those detained.
In response to these grave developments, Rased has urged the legitimate government to suspend dialogue with the UN envoy in Aden. The organization insists that talks should not resume until the Houthis are pressured to cease their crimes. Rased also appealed to local and international human rights organizations to document and condemn these violations in adherence to international covenants and laws.
