A large solidarity rally in the Yemeni city of Marib on Friday, August 9th, 2024, strongly condemned the Israeli occupation's relentless targeting of schools and displacement centers in Gaza, denouncing the Israeli Finance Minister's statements regarding starving the civilian population.
The rally, held in the heart of Marib after Friday prayers, considered the deliberate starvation of civilians a "complete war crime." It asserted that the Israeli Finance Minister's statements regarding starving the civilians in Gaza "prove to the world his contempt for international law and all fundamental principles of humanity."
A statement issued by the rally, a copy of which was received by "Barran Press," stated that the sacrifices and martyrdom of leaders in the context of liberating homelands from occupation have never been a loss but a necessary price to pay for the liberation of individuals, groups, and nations from the shackles of humiliation and the chains of colonialism, which is rejected by all existing laws and constitutions.
The statement also congratulated Yahya Senwar on his election as the new head of Hamas' political bureau, succeeding the late Ismail Haniyeh.
The rally called on the international community and influential nations to exert genuine pressure on war criminals and urgently deliver humanitarian aid to all areas of the besieged Gaza Strip.
The statement reiterated the protesters' call to the Yemeni people, who have long been in solidarity with the Palestinian people, to continue providing assistance in all available ways and through various possible mechanisms.
It pointed out that the continued terrorist behavior and criminal actions of the Israeli occupation require the international community and Arab and Islamic leaders to shoulder their responsibilities by working diligently to stop the genocide in the Gaza Strip.
The crowds gathered in Marib today highly commended the International Court of Justice's rulings issued two weeks ago on the crime of settlement.
The statement emphasized that the International Court of Justice's rulings require genuine will and strong action to be implemented on the ground, starting with imposing a boycott on the entity and leading to holding its leaders accountable and punishing those responsible for genocide and the unjust war.
For the ninth consecutive month, the city of Marib has witnessed solidarity events with the Palestinian people and their suffering from a brutal and destructive war waged by the Israeli occupation with unprecedented American and Western support.
Hundreds of citizens from various social and political segments, civil society organizations, university students, and students of scientific institutes participate in these protest rallies.
