The Yemeni Foreign Ministry, recognized internationally , announced the passing of Yemen's Ambassador to Indonesia, Abdulghani Nasr Al-Shamiri, on Sunday, August 11, 2024. Al-Shamiri passed away on Saturday evening at the MMC hospital in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The ministry stated that "the nation has lost a prominent diplomatic, political, and media figure," expressing heartfelt condolences and sincere sympathy for this painful loss, according to the official Yemeni news agency Saba.

Ambassador Al-Shamiri held numerous positions throughout his career, including serving as Yemen's ambassador to Indonesia. He also worked within the Presidential Office, the Ministry of Information, and various institutions of radio and television, assuming numerous national responsibilities.
