The Joint Incidents Assessment Team (JIAT) of the Arab Coalition on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, refuted three allegations regarding the targeting of locations within Yemeni territory in 2015 and 2016. These allegations were raised by international organizations and human rights groups.

JIAT spokesperson, Advisor Mansour Al-Mansour, clarified in a press conference that all actions taken by the team were in accordance with international humanitarian law. He emphasized that the team receives all allegations from international and local entities, organizations, and the coalition, in addition to its own monitoring of various media outlets.

Al-Mansour stated that Coalition forces did not carry out any airstrikes on the "Baqim Rural Hospital" in the Shida district of Sa'ada Governorate (northern Yemen) in October 2016. This allegation was made by the organization "Physicians for Human Rights."

"After verification and investigation, it was found that Coalition forces did not conduct any air missions on the day of the alleged incident or the day before or after. Therefore, the JIAT concluded that Coalition forces did not target the Baqim Rural Hospital in the Baqim district of Sa'ada Governorate as alleged," he said.

Furthermore, the JIAT refuted an allegation that Coalition aircraft targeted homes in a residential area in the village of Al-Hamra in the Tuban district of Lahj Governorate in August 2015. This allegation was reported to the JIAT by the National Committee on Allegations of Human Rights Violations in Yemen during its field visit to Yemen in March 2021.

According to the JIAT spokesperson, after conducting research and investigating the incident, it became clear that Coalition forces did not target any homes in the village of Al-Hamra in the Tuban district of Lahj Governorate on the specified date.

In the same vein, Al-Mansour addressed an allegation regarding a mortar shell falling on a water point where a girl was standing, resulting in her injury and the destruction of the water unit in May 2020 in the village of Al-Thira in the Shida district of Sa'ada Governorate.

He stated that after verifying the incident, it was confirmed that Coalition forces did not target the water point using a mortar shell in the village of Al-Thira in the Shida district of Sa'ada Governorate as alleged.
