A presidential source clarified on Friday, August 16, 2024, the circumstances surrounding the reported intrusion by armed personnel affiliated with Presidential Leadership Council member Abu Zar'ah Al-Mahrami into a presidential office in Aden last week.

The official Yemeni News Agency (Saba) quoted a responsible source within the Presidential Leadership Council as stating that the council is fully aware of the incident involving the closure of a building in Khormaksar, Aden, leased as an office for the Presidency.

While denying media reports of armed personnel storming the building, the source explained that "representatives from the office of Presidential Leadership Council member Abdurrahman Al-Mahrami went to the location and informed the staff in a legal manner."

The source confirmed that "the representatives requested the staff to close the office and take leave until the Leadership Council convenes to address the matter." The source also indicated that the staff closed the office using their personal keys in response to the request.

The source emphasized the Presidential Leadership Council's steadfast and unified stance in addressing such "occasional irregularities" and its unwavering commitment to unity and shared destiny for all national components in confronting the Iranian-backed Houthi project.

The source ridiculed claims by certain misleading platforms, which he described as "hoping for divisions that have no place in the republican ranks, resorting to incitement, rumors, and fake accounts to slander state symbols and the sacrifices of its national components in their futile attempt to stir up strife and poison the public space on behalf of their failing forces."

The source rejected the insults directed at Presidential Leadership Council member Abdurrahman Al-Mahrami, whom he described as "having made the greatest sacrifices alongside the valiant Giants Forces, engaging in continuous heroic battles against the Houthi terrorist militias and the Iranian expansionist project in Yemen and the region."

The source appealed to media outlets to exercise full responsibility when dealing with sensitive national issues, prioritize truth and fairness, and refrain from turning cyberspace into a platform for harming social peace and public interest, disregarding the serious consequences on all levels.

This clarification comes in response to reports published by local media outlets and circulated on various platforms about the intrusion by armed personnel linked to Presidential Leadership Council member Abu Zar'ah Al-Mahrami into a presidential office in Aden, which is under the security and military control of the Southern Transitional Council. These reports led to the departure of the Presidential Office Director Yahya Al-Shaibi from the city.
