Marib, Yemen, September 6, 2024 – A large-scale solidarity rally took place in Marib, Yemen, on Friday, condemning the ongoing Israeli military operation in the West Bank and the brutal massacre in Gaza. Participants chanted slogans denouncing the Israeli war of annihilation against the Palestinian people and the American support for it.
A statement issued by the rally, a copy of which was obtained by "Barran Press," condemned the US administration's continued support for Israel and its attempts to exonerate it from all humanitarian violations and political distortions. The statement deemed this a continuation of the US's complicit policy in the brutal extermination process.
The statement urged the Palestinian Authority to recognize the gravity of the situation and reconsider its security coordination with the Israeli occupation before losing any remaining semblance of sovereignty over occupied territories.
The rally also called on the international community to immediately halt the genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza, implement its resolution to cease the war and hold Israel accountable. They demanded an immediate end to the Israeli aggression in the West Bank and the cessation of the Nazi-like military operation that has been ongoing for two weeks.
The statement urged Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to understand that just as the resistance in Gaza refuses to surrender to the occupation, the West Bank will not succumb despite all the surrounding circumstances.
The rally urged the International Court of Justice and humanitarian organizations to swiftly investigate the crimes of genocide and ethnic cleansing being perpetrated by Israel against the Palestinian people in Gaza, which have resulted in the deaths of over 50,000 Palestinians and over 100,000 injured. They considered this a crime that demands accountability for all those involved and those who justify it.
The statement called for an investigation into the extrajudicial killings and deliberate murder of over 60 Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails, carried out under the auspices of Netanyahu and his fascist government.
The statement added that the Security Council is more obligated than ever to fulfill its duties by compelling Israel to cease its blatant violations of international law and fundamental humanitarian principles.
The rally held the Israeli occupation responsible for the state of siege imposed on Gaza, calling on the international community to assume its responsibilities and oblige Israeli forces to lift the siege and ensure the delivery of aid to Gaza through the crossings.
The participants expressed their full solidarity with the Republic of Egypt and rejected Netanyahu's use of Egypt's name regarding the "Philadelphia" axis to distract public opinion and hinder mediation efforts. They appealed to Arab and Islamic governments and all freedom-loving people to take a firm stance against the occupying enemy and its barbaric war.
The rally welcomed Britain's announcement of the suspension of arms export licenses to Israel, some of which were used in the war against the defenseless Palestinian people. They commended Amnesty International's call for concerned institutions to conduct an international investigation into Israeli war crimes in Gaza due to unjustified acts of destruction.
The statement hailed the Palestinian resistance and its glorious brigades engaged in fierce clashes with Israeli soldiers and vehicles using various machine guns and incendiary shells in battlefronts extending across all areas of the Gaza Strip.
The rally paid tribute to the heroes of the resistance in the West Bank, who have significantly strengthened the resistance since the launch of the recent Israeli operation and thwarted all the insidious plans aimed at placing the occupied territory under Israeli control and displacing its people to the sisterly Kingdom of Jordan.
The participants in the rally reaffirmed their support for the resisting Palestinian people and the just Palestinian cause, calling for continued support and assistance through all possible means until the land is restored and the holy sites are cleansed.
For the ninth consecutive month, Marib city has witnessed solidarity events with the Palestinian people and their suffering under the brutal and destructive war waged by the Israeli occupation with unprecedented American and Western support.
These protest rallies are attended by hundreds of citizens from various social and political segments, civil society organizations, university students and students of scientific institutions.
