The Yemeni Mothers of the Abductees Association reported on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, that they have documented six deaths in detention due to medical negligence or torture and 833 cases of arbitrary arrests and abductions of civilians during the past year, 2023.

In their fifth human rights report, released seeb by "Barran Press," the association documented 58 cases of torture by various perpetrators and 103 cases of enforced disappearances.

The report, titled "Mothers at the Doors of Justice 5," details the abuses suffered by detainees during 2023, drawing on testimonies from survivors and families of victims. It highlights the intimidation tactics used against detainees, including attempts to silence dissent through practices that constitute a blatant violation of international human rights law and international humanitarian law.

The association called on all parties to pressure the warring factions to release detainees and protect human rights in accordance with international principles and standards. They emphasized the need for accountability for all violations committed by all parties, calling for fair trials, compensation for victims and their families, and guarantees to prevent the recurrence of such abuses.
